After the breakfast drive to Shilin, a Sani minority count, to visit the Stone Forest. The bizarre karst stone rocks feature in various formation and some of them tower above to 30 m high. Drive back to Kunming, visit of the West Hill with the Longmen Caves.
Day 03 Air Kunming – Dali BL
In the morning fly to Dali, where we will stroll in the alleys of the ancient small town. The well preserved ancient city gates and the historic buildings have shown the city’s long history. In the afternoon visit of San Ta Si (Three Pagoda Temple) in the northwest outskirts of Dali. Then boating on the Erhai Lake in the east of the city. Day 04 Dali – Lijiang BL
Drive northwards approx. 200 km to Lijiang (2600 m), the Naxi Minority hometown. Day 06 Shangri-La BL
In the morning visit of the Sumzanlin Monastery, which was created in 1679 by the Fifth Dalai lama. Characterized by its Han-Chinese and Tibetan construction style, the monastery is the most important monastery of Gelugpa-sect in Yunnan province. Afterwards walking 2 – 3 hours through villages, grasslands, fields, hills to Napahai Preserve. After the visit of Napahai drive back to the hotel.
Day 07 Shangri-La – Dechen BLD
Drive through the Hengduan Range along the Jinsha Jiang (upper reaches of Yangtze) to Dechen. Have a break in the beautiful small town, Benzilan. Enjoy the panoramic view of the “first bend of Jinshan Jiang”. Before reach Dechen visit of the Dong Trubling Monastery. 2N in 2*Rainbow Hotel
Day 08 Dechen BLD
Program at the Meili Xueshan (6740 m), the highest peak in Yunnan Province. This peak is called “Kawagebo” by Tibetan compatriots, which means “the white snow mountain” in Tibetan language. Drive about 10 km from Dechen to Feilai Temple (3450 m). Walking from Feilai Temple to Mingyong Glacier at the foot of Meili Xueshan. Late in the afternoon drive back to Dechen.
Day 09 Dechen – Markam BLD
Drive northwards along the valley of Langcang Jiang River (Mekong), lunch break in the Mekong valley, pass the border between Yunnan and Tibet and arrival at Yanjing, see the people sunning the salt. In the afternoon reach Markam, where the Sichuan – Tibet Highway (Chengdu – Lhasa) and Yunnan-Tibet Highway meet (Kunming – Lhasa). 1N in 2*Kangsheng Hotel

Day 13 Bome – Linzhi BLD
Go down several hundred meters in altitude and reach the lowland jungle settlement of Tongmai where the Tsangpo and Parlung Tsangpo rivers meet. Crossing Serkhyem La Pass (4,515 m) we will have spectacular views of Mount Gyala Pelri (7,150 m) and Mount Namchak Barwa (7,782 m). In the morning, visit of the Potala, which was originally constructed in 637 by Songtsen Gampo, the first king of the united Tibet, and later expanded and used as the Dalai Lamas’ winter residence and as the religious and political center of traditional Tibet. The crowds of pilgrims, the innumerable and magnificent murals, Buddhist statues, scriptures and rare treasures put altogether create a dense religious and artistic atmosphere that impresses every visitor. In the afternoon, visit of Jokhang monastery, the center of the Tibetan Buddhism and the sacred land of Buddhist believers, where thousands of pilgrims come to worship every day. The temple, built in 647, is the oldest wood-and-masonry structure still existing in Tibet. Walk on the Barkhor street surrounding Jokhang, a big market selling local specialities.
Day16 Lhasa BL
In the morning visit of Drepung monastery, the sacred land of Gelug Sect., which was established in 1416, and the second, third and fourth Dalai Lama place of living. After, visit of Norbulinka, the Dalai Lamas’summer residence. In the afternoon, visit of Sera monastery, which was built in 1419 and has always been an important Buddhist seminary. As roses are planted everywhere in the monastery, it is also called “the court of wild roses”. Today 200 lamas still live there. The "Buddhism Scriptures Debate" in Sera is very famous.
Day17 Leave Tibet B
Transfer to the airport or the railway station, leave Tibet.
